If you're interested in Impala's in Michigan, you're in the right place. Most (not all) of the members have B-bodies, but it is not a requirement. Come out to a the club meeting Feb 2 and we can talk more about your car and you can hear about the club.

That 5.3 made more power out of the gate than your 5.7.

There are a few upgrades you can do to make it faster. I recall a kid (back then) who had a fwd and a blower or turbo on it. It was fast for what it was, but I think he had a lot of transmission issues. I don't know if he ever got it figured out (trans) but the motor seemed to do well. It was a early 2000 model, white, I think it was from the west side of the state maybe, he talked some doo doo to me once on a forum, until I asked him if he wanted to run.

Stick around, get to know the club, they will take care of you.

Stroker would be tricky since that motor has a unique crank... but it could be done. There are AFM friendly cams out there, since yours is an 08, it'll need a single bolt cam. You have the good heads already. There's no way to bore that block out much, so you are kinda stuck at 96mm bore, that motor has a unique FWD block. Luckily, at 300+ HP, that car is no slouch to start with. Focus on trans mods, and cop car suspension parts. Look into the Aurora brake upgrade, it fit the ols 2000-2004 cars, I am thinking it still works on the 05+ cars.

Welcome to the club.
