Dreamapalooza Rules for All Driving Events:

Failure to follow any of these rules may result in disqualification from the event(s) and removal from the event site(s).

Dreamapalooza officials are the final arbiters of the event rules and vehicle classifications.

Every vehicle MUST have (and use) a muffler system at all times, and this system must meet local noise limitations, if applicable. Cut-out pipes, etc. are NOT allowed. Please note that the Road Course event at Waterford Hills Road Racing has a specific limit of 75 dB, measured at the track's property line, which is 100 feet from the course to the driver’s side of the car, in the middle of the back straight (most cars are at wide open throttle here). However, please note that trees, vegetation, and a high wall reduce the amount of sound that reaches the dB meter at the property line. Most vehicles with catalytic converters and some type of mufflers and/or resonators in place should be well under the limit. Click HERE for Waterford Hills Rules sheet. There are no specific sound limitations for the Autocross or Drag Race events.

The use of nitrous systems is NOT allowed in the Autocross or Road Course events.  If you have a nitrous system in the car, you must disable it for these events (disconnect the bottle, etc.).  If requested, you must be able to show event officials that the system is disabled.  This is for safety reasons.

The car must be mechanically sound and safe.

All items not bolted down or solidly attached to the vehicle must be removed for all driving events.

Everyone at all event sites must have signed the event waiver form, as required by our event insurance.  Proof of this signing will be provided and must be displayed/available at all times.

All occupants must wear functioning seat belts (lap & shoulder or safety harness) during all driving events.

All occupants must wear an approved helmet during all driving events.  The helmet must meet Snell Foundation standards M, K, or SA from 1990 or later.  This is typically referred to and indicated on the helmet itself by one of the following markings:  M-90, M-95, M2000, SA-90, SA-95, SA2000, or K-98.

All participants in any competition area must wear footwear that completely encloses the foot. In addition, Milan Dragway requires long pants and shirts with sleeves for all drivers (not necessarily long sleeves, just some kind of shirt sleeves). Please note that the long pants and shirt with sleeves requirement applies only to the Drag Race event at Milan Dragway, but the footwear requirement applies to all driving event sites..

All participants must always act in a safe and reasonable manner.  Special care must be taken when in an area where other participants, children, animals, etc. may be present.  Anyone acting in a careless or unsafe manner will be disqualified and asked to leave the event site(s).

No alcohol is permitted at any driving event site at any time.

All drivers will be required to be at the driver’s meeting before each driving event.  The meeting will be held at the event site, and the time will be posted at Dreamapalooza registration and announced at the event site.

All vehicles in the Road Course and Autocross events must display their car number on both sides of the car, in numbers that are bold and at least 8" high. These numbers must be readable by event workers while your car is underway. Magnetic numbers or paper numbers taped into windows are preferable, since soap or other window-writing materials do not hold up well in the rain (but let's hope it doesn't rain). Your car number is your event registration number, which pre-registrants get via the on-line registration process. At the Drag Race event, Milan Dragway workers will take care of numbering the cars.

Supplemental rules for each event or location must be followed.  Any such rules will be distributed at Dreamapalooza registration, or covered at each driving event’s mandatory driver’s meeting.  These rules are subject to change if necessary.

Dreamapalooza Vehicle Classes for All Driving Events:

There are four classes for all Dreamapalooza driving events (Autocross, Road Course, Drag Race).  They are Stock, Street, Modified, and Wagon.  Descriptions are below.

Stock:

Vehicle drivetrain (engine, transmission, driveshaft, differential and all related parts), suspension, and braking system must be completely stock, with the following exceptions:

Any filter elements may be used (air, oil, fuel, etc.), provided they retain stock mounting type & location.

Any components, if replaced, must be replaced with only stock replacement components.  This allows for replacement of worn-out components provided they are replaced with like items.

Factory authorized and available TSB (Technical Service Bulletin) services and changes are allowed.

Any cosmetic, visual, or show modification that does not effect performance and does not lower vehicle weight is allowed.

The exhaust system, if replaced, must retain stock characteristics.

The ECM must retain stock programming (excepting TSB related changes as identified above).

Suspension geometry (alignment, etc) must be within stock limits.

Roll cages are allowed.  Better-than-stock seat belt/harness systems are allowed.

You may remove your spare tire, jack, etc. if you like.

Any modification that lowers the vehicle weight from stock (removal of parts, use of light racing seats, fiberglass body panels, aluminum driveshaft, etc.) is NOT allowed.  The exception is that materials that are not part of the car (spare tire, jack) can be removed.

Street:

Any modifications allowed in Stock class are allowed here.

Vehicle drivetrain (engine, transmission, driveshaft, differential and all related parts), suspension, and braking system must be completely stock, with the following exceptions:

- Any cold air intake modification is allowed.

- Any cooling system modification is allowed.

- Any ECM programming is allowed.

- Any electrical/ignition modification is allowed.

- Any bolt-on type drivetrain modifications are allowed (power-adders are NOT allowed).

- Any bolt-on type suspension modifications are allowed (sway bars, bushing material changes, etc.), provided that they retain the stock mounting locations and configurations.  Replacing sway bars, springs, etc. with higher performance items is allowed, but changing the mounting points is not.  Also, the components must retain the same basic function and type (for example, stiffer springs are allowed, but coil-ver type springs are not).  Any adjustment of allowed suspension components is permitted.

- Any braking system modifications are allowed, provided that components retain stock mounting locations, configurations, and sizes.  This allows for the replacement of existing brake parts with "performance" versions, but does NOT allow for changing the basic type of braking system.  For example, this does NOT allow the use of larger rotor sizes, or the changing of a rear-drum to rear-disk system.  The combi-valve brake modification is allowed.

-Any transmission modification is allowed, provided that the transmission remains the stock model.  This allows shift-kits and programming changes, but does not allow the transmission to be replaced with a different type or model.  Any torque converter is allowed.

- Any rear end gears are allowed.

- Any driveshaft is allowed.

- Any exhaust system is allowed, provided that it meets local noise limitations.  See the Rules for more information.

- Any tires & wheels are allowed.

Any modification that lowers the vehicle weight from stock is allowed, although the vehicle exterior and interior must retain the appearance of a street-drivable car.  For example, this allows you to replace your seats or hood, but not remove them.

Power-adders (superchargers, turbochargers, nitrous oxide systems) are NOT allowed.

Engines with increased displacement are NOT allowed.

Modified:

Unrestricted, provided that the vehicle can pass safety inspection and does not pose a danger to participants or occupants.

Wagon:

Any vehicle that is (or was from the factory) a station wagon.  Any modification is allowed, provided that the vehicle can pass safety inspection and does not pose a danger to participants or occupants.

Dreamapalooza Vehicle Classes for Car Show:

There will be three classes, Year, Mileage and Modification level. For all three classes there will be no special provisions made for B Body vehicles (other than the 91-93 that are all B Bodies). In other words a 95 B Body wagon will compete with a 95 Impala SS of equal mileage and modification levels.

Year classes
91 - 93 B Body
94

Mileage classes
Occasional Diver <= (Car's Age) x 2500mi/yr
Frequent Driver - In between Occasional and Daily
Daily Driver >= (Car's Age) x 10000mi/yr

Modification classes

SPECIALITY AWARDS: (All will be determined by People's Choice)

All Car Show registrants will be required to provide judges with the Year, Mileage and Modification class they will be competing in. Judges will be available to assist and will verify that the selected classes are correct. If a discrepancy arises the decision of the judges will be final.
