Dreamapalooza Drag Race Report

If you weren't at Milan Dragway you may not have heard that the Dreamapalooza Drag Race sponsored by ZapPcm.com was cancelled due to rain. Despite the best efforts of our "onstaff" weather guru, Steve Stocker.

Wayne Sistrunk, of the event sponsor ZapPcm.com , was not content to allow a bit of rain to dampen his nor anyone else's competitive sprit. So with that in mind, he arranged for several hours of wheel-to-wheel action at Cart to Cart, the local indoor go-cart track in Sterling Heights, Mi. Twenty people took Wayne up on his offer and off they went. Upon arrival all were attended to very well by Tony of Cart to Cart. After several practice sections and qualifying heats it all came down to the last lap where Wayne states " He (Ron Sellers) threw a Dale Earnhardt move on me" sending Wayne to third place in the process (Wayne feels that being a sponsor entitles him to a little more respect)

Congratulations to Ron Sellers on his win at the first ever go-cart race as part of an Impala SS event. Sorry Ron, no points are awarded for your win!

It should be noted that several people took advantage of Milan Dragway's Wednesday night test and tune. Getting a feel for the facility in preparation to lay down some good numbers on Thursday when they would pull out all the stops. Based on the cars that I saw throughout the week, I fully expected to see multiple 11 & 12-second cars and at least one 10-second car. Unfortunately, the weather didn't cooperate. Maybe next time!
