BEST OVERALL IMPALA (BOI) SCORING SYSTEM
The system for scoring BOI at Dreamapalooza is designed, as much as possible, to allot equal points to all events in the competition.
The events to be included in BOI are:
The Impala that amasses the greatest number of points as an aggregate in these events will be deemed to be the Best Overall Impala (BOI). It is not necessary to enter all events to participate, but is not likely that missing an event will allow a win. There will not be any places that will be awarded other than first place.
The points available to BOI entries will be based on placement in each of the events. The placement will be among all entries in each event. (I.e. a third place will be awarded third place points no matter how many of the entries finishing above are entered in BOI).
In each event, an entry will be awarded points as follows:
ADDITIONALLY, points will be awarded for placement in the Sound Quality portion of the Sound Off event. As in dB Drag portion, the first ten places will be awarded points ranging from ten (10) points for first place to one (1) point for tenth place.
The maximum points that any entry may be awarded will be forty (40) points in this event.
NOTE: Placement points will not be awarded to any entry presenting a stock or substantially stock system. Demonstrated working system points (20) only, will be awarded to such stock or substantially stock entries.
All entrants who complete the first round (win or lose) will receive 20 points. Failure to do so will result in a DNF and 0 points for the event.
The winner of the event/class will receive 20 points for an event point total of 40 points.
Second place will receive 19 points for an event point total of 39 points.
The semi final round loser's margin of loss will be analyzed to determine who was closest to their dial-in without breaking out; the entrant with the smallest margin of error will be awarded third place points
The other semi final round loser will be awarded fourth place points.
Thereafter, depending on the size of the class, points will be awarded as follows:
All "BYE" runs will be awarded to the entrant with the best reaction time during the prior round.
All fouls, red lights, crossing the centerline, etc. will lose.
MISSL will be the final arbiter in all disputes.
