We are planning a number of day trips for those not participating in specific events, or for family members that may not want to bake in the sun all day with the drivers. Each day, we'll have something different to do.
For Monday, we are having the cook out and car show/soundoff and we expect that everyone will want to be there. This is taking place at a local State Park. There are nature trails, a petting zoo, bike rentals and horseback riding for those interested. It is also a great place to fly a kite. For each of the rest of the days of that week, we have the following trips in mind. If there is enough interest in any or all of these we can provide mass transportation to and from the host hotel for a nominal fee that covers our costs.
The following are proposed events that we selected as having the most potential appeal and are subject to change.
Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village
In the Village, you can expect to travel through time across 81-acres of historic grounds and buildings. Here you will enjoy constumed presenters, dramatic plays, craft demonstrations, historic transportation rides, and authentic dining experiences.
In the Museum, you will explore innovation in America while journeying through 8-acres of some of the world's most fascinating and unusual artifacts. While mostly self-guided, scheduled tours and presenters also provide insight to what has been called the finest collection ever assembled documenting the American experience.
Diamond Jack's Riverboat Tours
Enjoy your own two hour cruise on the sparkling waters of the Detroit River, the world's busiest international waterway. Passengers of all ages discover countless sights rich in history and anecdote during our expertly narrated river tours.
